Addis Ababa – The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has announced that digital payment channels processed more than ETB 22.24 trillion in financial transactions during the 2025/26 Ethiopian fiscal year (2018 E.C.).
According to information presented at the Bank’s Annual General Meeting, a total of 3.48 billion digital transactions, amounting to more than ETB 22.24 trillion, were completed through CBE’s various digital payment platforms during the fiscal year.
The Bank also revealed that over 90% of all financial transactions conducted through CBE are now processed digitally. This achievement has enabled the Bank to capture approximately 70% of Ethiopia’s digital payments market, making it the country’s leading provider of digital payment services.
